There has been some talk about the possibility of ebooks on the iPhone, however Mike Cane has linked to some nice examples of not only books, but graphic novels, as read on the iPhone’s super-sexy screen.

 All I can say is… wow. Wow, wow, wow.

Sony Reader, you just got effed in the a!

So, I’m not done with HP7 yet, however I’m on page 500 or so and J.K. Rowling has already made me cry three times. I’m not going to say at what parts for two reasons:

1. I don’t want to spoil anything,
2. It’s kind of embarrassing that Harry Potter books make me cry.

Anyway, I’m just saying, bring some Kleenex.

Come to think of it, I tend to cry a lot when I read… I did it three times during Jane Eyre and maybe four times during His Dark Materials Trilogy.

Do I have a problem? I might need to be careful. I don’t think my Sony Reader would deal well with water.

Ahem.

So yesterday I found out about SimpsonizeMe.com, yet another marketing ploy for the new Simpsons Movie. Basically, you upload a head-shot of yourself and the Simpsonizer works its magic. A very fun diversion, though some people seem to take it a bit too seriously. But then again, when doesn’t New York Magazine take itself seriously? Oh well.

However, it appears that the Simpsonizer does work for those of us who aren’t burdened by an entirely crushing sense of self-importance. I think that the Simpsonizer tolerates (at the most) a medium-sized sense of importance, as evidenced by its acceptance of my photo.

Questions like, “Will Harry live or die? Is Severus Snape good or evil? Will Ron and Hermione become a couple and live happily ever after?“

It’s not easy being a Potter fan in this time of tension and speculation. Luckily, we can always turn to retail therapy–just ask Media Biz blogger Paul R. La Monica, who has cleverly compiled a “Potter Index” of companies that stand to profit from Pottermania.

Right. I’ll try to keep the random Wizard of Oz references to a minimum for the rest of the post, I swear.

Anyway, this morning I found out from the always-informative Sickr that a “new and improved” Wii should be available this very winter. So what are the improvements to come, you ask?  Will the new Wii have more online, interactive content like the Xbox 360? Will you be able to download movies and TV shows?

Alas, no. As it turns out, the new Wii “will be essentially the same as the current Wii models but has the added ability to play DVD movies and will be offered in multiple colors, including Black.“

Well, I guess any improvement is better than no improvements. But will it come in blue plaid?

Soon, there’ll be throngs of impressionable children getting all hot and bothered over witchcraft.

Yes, indeed. I happen to know a couple of nine-year-olds who converted from Catholicism just because of the Potter books.

Yeesh. It seems like every time a new Potter book comes out, the crazy fundamentalists come out in droves. Of course, it’s hard not to be a little creeped out by them–it’s no good for your image to tell a kid that they are “just one of millions of young Satanist’s (obviously spell-check is a sin, too) being groomed to prepare the stage for the coming antichrist.” By the way, this quote comes from Jesus -is- Savior.com and refers (I’m not even kidding here) to a 15-year-old Canadian girl who runs a Harry Potter fan site.

Well, so much for our children. I think we can safely assume that J.K. Rowling has already warped their fragile little minds beyond all recovery. But we can’t let our precious pets fall into this trap.

Yes, you read that right–raking. But it’s actually a really clever experiment. And, anyway, there’s nothing wrong with getting some free yard work out of it. As we all know, chimps love nothing more than landscaping.

I guess Chong’s been visiting FOX and MSNBC a lot lately in promotion of his new book, The I Chong. He’s clearly intelligent and can actually carry on a conversation–which means he’s very out-of-place on shows like Cavuto’s. I checked YouTube for some more Tommy Chong goodness and found this little slice of hilarity…

And yes, just like Cavuto, the MSNBC anchor is soon at a loss for words in the face of Chong’s simple logic. She then also resorts to asking Chong if he is high… which we all know is very mature. I know that’s what I do when someone disagrees with me.
